Rescue Me ID: 12-12-20-00291Jaz (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Jaz is truly a fantastic furkid. He has the energy and intelligence of an Australian Cattle Dog. He loves to go on walks with his people and would probably enjoy going on jogs even better. This guy doesn't let anything slow him down. When I say nothing I mean nothing. This active guy was born with a disability. He is one of those rare white ACDs. As with all animals with white ears there is a chance for deafness and that is true in Jaz's case. Luckily for Jaz he was also born as one of the most intelligent breeds of dog on the planet. Never had a deaf dog before. . . are you not sure you could handle a deaf dog. . . feel free to ... (Read More)come and meet Jaz and find out for yourself. Don't let your doubts make this guy wait another year to find his forever home. He has just as much love and loyalty to give as any dog that can hear. Jaz requires a fenced in yard. The biggest tips I can give you for living with a deaf dog are: (1) Make sure he knows when you leave the room or house. You don't want your dog waking up and searching the house until you come home. (2) A fence and leash will be your best friends. You never want him to wander off. You can't just call for him. (3) Wake him gently. He won't hear you coming, so make sure to either brush him gently to wake him or offer him a treat and let his nose wake him up. Want more training tips. Here's a great website for how to train a deaf dog and it's owner. http://deafdogs.org/training/ Read it throughly and then come meet Jaz. You can learn together. *Jaz is spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. Jaz's adoption fee is $130. The first step to adopting is to fill out our adoption application. Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Chloe is a natural born sweetheart. Her number one favorite thing in the whole world is going on a leashed walk. When you pick up the leash she will come right up to you and is ready to go. Chloe is however a very timid furbaby. She is just naturally a very shy and anxious girl. Chloe is friendly with her foster mom and foster grandparents, but she is still a lot more shy with them than other dogs. Chloe will need an adopter with a lot of patience and understanding. She may take a long time to come out of her shell. Chloe would be best in a home with another dog, so that she will have somefur to show her that her new people are okay. ... Rescue Me ID: 12-12-18-00244Lily (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lily is great with people. She is the very definition of a people pleaser. She loves to be with people and is always looking for ways to make them happy. She really excels at training time and would be an excellent dog for someone that wants to train thier dog. Lily really wants to be someone's best friend. Lily has loads of energy and would make a great jogging partner or maybe even an agility dog. Her foster mom says Lily definently needs daily exercise. Like most of us though Lily is not perfect. She would be best as an only pet in a home with no small children. Lily can be a bit too excitable for small children. She also has a ... (Read More)dominant streak that comes out when she and another dog play. She would be best as an only dog for this reason. Lily initially came to her foster mom after one such incident with another dog. Lily's dominant streak came out when she was playing with the family's other dog and the other dog didn't back down from Lily and it started a fight. Luckily neither dog was injured, but Lily became very anxious and afraid of the other dog. She basically shut down. Lily was still very shut down when she got to her foster home, but after working with her foster mom and one of the other foster dogs, Lily finally emerged from her shell after nearly a month of rehab. Since then Lily is frequently taken on off leash walks with the other dogs at her foster home. Lily wears a basket muzzle when she's out with the other dogs, just in case there are any problems. Games of fetch and other exciting activities are mostly avoided on these walks as they can trigger Lily's dominance issue. Lily's foster mom says she is a sweet girl and will make the right person a perfect companion. She just needs a chance to prove herself. Lily is house and crate trained. You can contact Lily's foster mom at: muttsoflove@yahoo.com *Lily is spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. Lily's adoption fee is $130.
